Moving Updates

Tuesday, December 29th
Today our sign was hung, the sales counter was constructed and we continued to work on organizing the product. Donna worked all day on the chipboard section and Christa worked on the rubber stamp section. Sue, Pretz (Chris' mom) and Rita (Christa's mom) worked on making sure all the products were close to where they needed to be displayed, ironed table clothes and organized the classroom area. Stacey (Donna's daughter) put up the Alphabet and Pets sections, while Chris worked on the Sports and Easter/Spring sections.

Monday, December 28th
We had a great time looking for store fixtures, we did a field trip to Qcumberz, Finders Keepers and Everything Goes! We found several fun pieces to add to our store collection. It's been a year since we were all able to go out shopping together. John waited at the store for Qwest to install the phone lines but due to technical difficulties we still don't have phone service.

We've Moved! Sunday, December 27th

With the help of family and friends we had everything moved over to the new store in just a few hours on Sunday. Then we started working on placing everything in its new home. The store is going to be fabulous!

It's official we signed the new lease on December 3rd! We will be moving into Suite 130 the week between Christmas & New Years. Watch for updates on the move...

Our October classes have been posted! We have three new guest instructors added to the schedule this month. With these instructors we can now offer Friday and Saturday classes!

Amy has created the Vintage Mini Book with classes scheduled for October 17th and 24th!

Linda has created a Envelope Mini Book using the Smirk Christmas with classes scheduled for Ocotber 9th and 23rd.

Holly has created a Holiday Planner using a composition notebook with her class scheduled for October 31st.

Scrap Pink Crops - Sept. 25th & 26th

Join us for Friday evening's crop will be from 5 - 11 PM and will include dinner, door prizes and goody bags. The cost is just $25 with all proceeds from the crop going to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Saturday's crop will be 11 AM - 11 PM - 12 hours of creative FUN! This crop will include an auction (bring extra cash for bidding on some great items), door prizes, goody bags, snacks, dinner, and drinks!

For those who can't crop with us - Join us from 2 to 4 PM for $2 Make & Take projects with all the proceeds going to Breast Cancer Research. We will have 3 different projects - choose one, two or all three!

Along with all this great fun, we will be having hourly door prize drawings from 12:30-7:30 PM on Saturday for just stopping in the store (you do need to be present to win). Or join us at 7:00 PM for the auction!

Card Gathering for Hospice

Join us Wednesday, September 9th to create cards for hospice patients. All supplies are furnished, we just ask that you bring yourself and donate your time to this worthy cause.

Never made cards before? That's alright we have samples for you to copy or will give you guidance. With 3000+ new patients a month, hospice is always in need for handmade cards. We always take donations of handmade birthday, thinking of you and thank you cards (no "get well soon cards", please).

Join us for Scrap Pink crops September 25th & 26th. All procedes to go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Friday's crop will include dinner, dessert, door prizes and goody bags for all for just $25! Crop from 5 -11 pm.

Saturday's crop will be from 11 am - 11 pm - 12 hours of creative FUN! This crop will include snacks, dinner, door prizes and goody bags for just $45. We will be doing an auction so be sure to bring extra cash - for some great products.

Can't join us for cropping? Join us for $2 make and takes from 2 - 4pm on Saturday the 26th with all procedes going breast cancer research. We will have 3 projects to choose from, choose one or all three!

We are going to the Southwest mini show (in other words- buying new product for the store) tomorrow! We will be closing at 2:00 pm in order for ALL of us to have a chance to view new products, learn a new technique or two and shop for new FUN products for you.

Christa will be doing the Make and Take Project tomorrow from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm - it's a cute accordian fold mini book. You won't want to miss it - for just $2!

My Minds Eye- Boo 2 You! has also made its debut in the Crop Girls store. To match the cute papers there are brads, glitter chipboard pieces and a die cut sheet.

Our class calendar has been posted on the website (www.cropgirls.com) and we have some fun classes planned this month. From cards to mini books you won't want to miss out on these great ideas and fun projects.

Our Crop Special for the months of August and September is: $10 for Friday or Saturday evening crops. Crops are every Friday or Saturday evening unless noted on the calendar, we serve coffee and dessert, everyone receives a goody bag and we even do a door prize or two. So, grab a friend or two and join us for a fun evening out!

Summer Kid's Camp

Crop Girls will be hosting Kid's Camp, Monday through Thursday, July 6th through 9th from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Everyday we will create a project and five 6x6 scrapbook pages, so by the end of camp your child will have completed a 20 page album and four fun projects. Projects include a picture frame, mailbox, bookmark and clothespin doll. Included in the fee of $75 is all class supplies including a 6x6 album for all of the finished pages. Ages 7 and up, but some exceptions may apply.

June Classes At Crop Girls

You won't want to miss the great classes the Crop Girls have come up for you this month! Cards and Mini Books have been very popular so with have created some fun classes around those categories.

We have cards using the Happy Bird-Day line from 3 Bugs in a Rug, masculine cards made with paper bags, and a gift set using My Mind's Eye's Andrea Victoria line. For those who like the Shabby/Vintage feel we have a box and card set. Mini books with themes like Aliens from Crate Paper, Disney using Happy from Pinecone Press, Summer House book using Karen Foster's new Summer Picnic line and A Day at the Beach using Imaginisce papers. CROP GIRLS opens in 1 DAY!!!!

Can you believe the day is almost here?

We are so thrilled! It took almost 6 weeks to set-up the CROP GIRLS store and NOW the day has finally arrived....Everyone can come on over to shop on Friday {after 4pm} to see the NEW store in person! It is truly amazing that we had enough items to fill the whole store! (we're amazed!) Of course, MORE products will be arriving over the next several weeks from the orders we placed at the CHA show. You'll love what we have ordered! Our store will be bursting at the seams with lots of wonderful products!

We hope you like our new little shoppe--you'll really like our friendly & knowledgeable staff, terrific classes & crops, great prices, unique and fantastic products, and the home-like atmosphere!

CROP GIRLS goes to CHA...

Almost a week away from our GRAND OPENING and the CROP GIRLS must take a little trip to visit the CHA (Craft & Hobby Association) trade show in Anaheim this weekend...to order even MORE products for the store! All those wonderful visions of Scrapbooking and Stamping "eye-candy" will start trickling in many weeks after we open, so you'll have something fresh and exciting to see every time you visit us.

We'll post photos and updates of all of the wonderful new paper "lovelies" over the weekend so you can see what you have to look forward to...as if you were there with us!

Handyman David will be at the CROP GIRLS store doing last minute handyman things while we are away--in case you are walking by and see him inside the store.

YARD SALE at the CROP GIRLS

Thank you everyone who stopped by to check out the SCRAPBOOK & RUBBER STAMP sidewalk YARDSALE at our cute little store...we hope you found many wonderful bargains today! There were many gently used Rubber Stamps for $1-$2...we'll bring MORE tomorrow!

If you weren't able to come today (Friday), this is a TWO-DAY SALE and you didn't miss out on all the good stuff from today...because we are bringing out MORE stuff tomorrow for Saturday from 9am-2pm! It'll be worth the trip to stop by....peek at the photos from today, look at all the ladies having a great time!

We are located at the far east of the strip mall...next to Mercer's restaurant...look for the Barber Shop sign. Our sign isn't up, since we aren't open yet.

Here is a photo of our store name on the door--doesn't it look fantastic? If you look past the glass, you can spot the Valentine's display...ooooh!

WOW!! It's been terrific meeting so many of you who have stopped by to take a peek into the CROP GIRLS store...we've been working like busy little bees getting it all set-up for a fabulous shopping experience and fun place to come visit. Wait until you see our new cash register area...it is SO adorable!!!

We can't wait to see you tomorrow and on Saturday for our "Scrapbook and Rubber Stamp" yard sale! (...right outside of the store in the mall area). There are so many great things you'll find for CHEAP! See you there!

Yes! It's true! Save the dates...

A "Scrapbook, Stamp, and Paper Crafting Yard Sale" at CROP GIRLS...(to clear out items from our own personal collections, etc.) It's actually inside the mall, just outside of our new store in Peoria, Arizona.

If you love bargains, then you won't want to miss this! Be sure to bring cash to this yard sale! (we don't have a credit card machine yet...remember, we aren't officially open yet for a few more weeks)....

What will be available? LOTS of Scrapbook paper, albums, chipboard, embellishments, ribbons, stickers, die-cuts, CTMH stuff, gently used rubber stamps, books, Scrapbook magazines, and tons more! Find lots of fabulous stuff for CHEAP!!!

CROP GIRLS MOVING DISPLAY RACKS...

Today, the brown paper in the windows have come down and you can see into the store now. Come take a peek in the windows, if you are ever in the area of 99th Avenue & Peoria.

The displays are currently empty...but, soon to be filled with all sorts of fabulous merchandise within the next few weeks....(this is the fun part!)

We even have time to pose for a photo while moving around heavy furniture.

Here we are hanging up pegs into the slatwall...working up a sweat!

CROP GIRLS visit to the BAZZILL warehouse

Embossed Bazzill "Dotted Swiss" 12 x 12 Cardstock-available in 20 colors...so pretty, you'll want to use them for everything! CROP GIRLS carries these "paper pretties"...but, you'll have to wait until we open next month! We'll have many wonderful items available just in time for your Valentine's Day projects...plus many terrific classes too!

We went to visit the Bazzill warehouse to pick-up a LOAD of cardstock...we probably looked like a bunch of crazy Tourists taking photos of the Bazzill building.

WOW! Look at ALL of that cardstock!!
The warehouse was HUGE!

Here is a photo of the Bazzill loading dock--so HUGE, there is even a BIG Fed-Ex trailor truck docked in the back to get all of that wonderful cardstock shipped out.

What is a "Hospice Card Gathering"? --this is when anyone shows up and helps create handmade cards for Hospice of the Valley! The items are provided by "Crop Girl-Donna"...just bring your basic tools. There is no charge for this---it's a nice way to donate your time, creativity, and love for making cards! And best of all, the recipients truly appreciate & cherish each handmade card! No experience necessary!

It's so much fun! Be on the watch for this & other fantastic classes & crops when we roll out our Class Calendar next month!

Here we are (yesterday, actually) just making ourselves at home in the mall area...just outside of our store....having a meeting.

There is a fantastic little restaurant right across the way called "Mercer's"(which you can see in the background)...and they have some delicious coffee for a $1.00 a cup! Mmmm! Mercer's serves diner type food--really yummy & inexpensive! It's so convenient when you get hungry...you don't need to go far after a busy day of shopping or cropping!

Look at the fabulous new sign hanging above the entrance pointing to the store. Now you'll be able to find us (when we open next month). *** In case you were wondering if the sign was in the shape of a Christmas Tree turned on its side, it's supposed to be an "arrowhead", thus the name of the mall (not to be confused with "Arrowhead Towne Center" at 75th Ave/Bell).

We don't have any photos from Day 2 to share, since we didn't snap any photos...so, we'll share a group photo taken on Day 1 (in case you thought we were wearing the same clothes from the day before)....Here we are in the empty store, not to worry, this store will soon be FULL of all sorts of wonderful merchandise, you'll think we've been there for years!
